The usage of solvents is a core requirement in most disciplines of synthetic chemistry and therefore the introduction of them into a glovebox environment is unavoidable, especially in organometallic chemistry. However the reactor and other parts of the glovebox will take damage over time if exposed to solvent fumes and therefore a solvent filter is needed to protect the rest of the system.
